FKE UiTM Wins Big In IMDC2015
INNOVATE MALAYSIA DESIGN COMPETITION 2015 was held on 17-18th August 2015 at Connexion@Nexus, Bangsar South.
Nine teams from UiTM won in the Innovate Malaysia Design Competition 2015 – bringing home 11 prizes (out of 42 that were announced) – the most compared to all universities in Malaysia on the 18th August 2015. UiTM topped 2 of the seven industry tracks and 2 of the four design challenges.
A total of 35 teams of university engineering and computer science students presented their inventions and innovations at the grand finale of the Innovate Malaysia Design Conference* (IMDC) 2015 held at Connexion@Nexus, Bangsar South. They were shortlisted from a total of 250 team entries that came from 26 public and private institutions of higher learning; nine of the teams were from UiTM comprising of 25 Faculty of Electrical Engineering students. Winners were chosen from seven different industry categories and four industry design challenges. Project judging selects quality entries through model demonstration, oral presentation, technical paper, poster presentation, 5-min video summary and thorough question and answer sessions with technical specialists as judges from the industries involved.
Nine out of 35 selected teams of undergraduates based on the quality of final year project submission is a highly significant portion of participation success. Considering that the competition garners strong collaboration of highly reputable EE companies in Malaysia and attracts huge participation from all sections of local universities, this is certainly something UiTM can be proud of.
