UiTM undergraduate researchers have done us proud in Innovate Malaysia Design Competition 2016 in Penang, 8-9 August 2016. UiTM won the 1st place under the Keysight Technologies industry track award, Best Video Award, 1st runner up for Microsoft track award, 2nd runner up for MDEC’s IoT award and consolation prizes for Intel and National Instruments industry track award.
Innovate Malaysia Design Competition (IMDC) is a multi-discipline engineering design competition open to all final year undergraduate engineering or computer science students in Malaysia. The organizers are a grand combination of 9 Electrical and Electronics multinational companies in Malaysia (Altera, Intel, Keysight, Mathworks, Microsoft, Motorola, National Instruments, Silterra and Vitrox) with Dreamcatcher Consulting as the secretariat, brought to the nation by TalentCorp and MDEC and supported by various government and professional bodies. The motivation of the program is to nurture research, design and innovation among university graduates. 5 groups from UiTM were chosen to be among 45 groups in the Grand Finale. The competition is across 10 months, involving more than 200 group entries that came from more than 29 public and private institutions of higher learning and 500 final year students.
