The Final Year Project is a significant component of the Electrical/Electronic Engineering undergraduate degree program. Its main objective is to develop problem-solving, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation skills in the field of Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Timeline

Project Timeline & Structure

The FYP is implemented over two semesters:

  • Semester 7: FYP 1 (2 credit hours) – Proposal, planning, and initial development
  • Semester 8: FYP 2 (5 credit hours) – Full development, testing, and evaluation

Students must prepare a work schedule and adhere to it. All progress must be recorded and updated in the FYP Management System.

Evaluation

Evaluation Components

  • Supervisor's assessment of work progress (semesters 7 & 8)
  • Project proposal (end of Semester 7)
  • Project demonstration with Q&A (end of Semester 8)
  • Technical paper evaluated by a panel
  • Final project report (50–100 pages)

A good project should include: design and synthesis, hardware/software implementation, measurement, and data acquisition.
